TE suspends signature collection service

Judith Pena | January 6, 2023

For 24 hours, the Electoral Tribunal (TE) suspended this Friday, January 6, the service for collecting signatures in support of pre-candidates for free application.

According to the TE, the suspension was given through all the channels enabled for this purpose, because the procedures for change of residence must be completed, so that on January 20 of this year the Preliminary Electoral Register (PEP) can be published.

As stipulated in Decree May 29, 2022, on January 5, 2023, the procedures for change of residence must be concluded for the publication of the PEP, a process that requires a series of tasks that include passing the validation of the electoral residence of citizens who support a pre-candidate by free application.
