The Federal Audit Court (TCU) did not find differences in the electronic ballot boxes that were analyzed during an audit carried out in the second round of the elections.
According to information released by the court, no divergence was found by the body’s technicians in the 604 bulletins analyzed based on information provided by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
The bulletin is printed by poll workers after the polls are closed and posted on the door of the polling station. The document contains the number of votes per candidate, nulls, blanks and data on voting equipment.
The report with the consolidated information will be attached to the process that deals with the audit of the elections, started in 2021, together with the Electoral Justice. The final result is scheduled for early 2023.
According to the TCU, its role in the auditing of ballot boxes aims to ensure the reliability of public information passed on to society. The court is also part of the election transparency commission, a group that is chaired by the TSE.
In July, before the elections, the TCU concluded that Brazil’s electronic voting system it’s safe and that there were no relevant risks for carrying out the claim.
