Pop singer Anitta became the first Brazilian to reach the top of the global ranking of the Spotify platform, with her successful song “Envolver”, which added more than 71 million views this Friday.

“Number 1 in the world. I don’t really know what to say (…) Oh my God, ”Anitta wrote on her social networks, five days after her 29th birthday.
The rise of reggaeton “Envolver”, released last November, was fueled by its sensual dance move, which became a viral challenge on social media around the world.
“It was very difficult, it is the result of a lot of work. Don’t think it was luck,” says the singer in a video posted on the Spotify Brazil networks, which confirmed the feat of “the first Brazilian to reach the top #1 in the world with a solo song.”
“I have never seen Brazil so united in anything,” adds Anitta, excited.
Born in Rio de Janeiro into a humble family, Anitta was initially recognized in Brazil after releasing her first album in 2013 in Portuguese. Years later, she began her path to the international scene singing also in Spanish and English, until she reached her current recognition.
In January, he released “Boys don’t cry”, a single in which he bet fully on the US market, after several collaborations with international artists.
“I am in shock. Thank you, thank you, thank you ”, she wrote, the carioca on Instagram, where she accumulates more than 60.6 million followers.
On her account, the singer recently published videos in which young people, adults and even older people are seen rehearsing the sensual choreography of “Envolver”, practiced in sometimes unusual places, such as underwater.
The song by the fellow songwriter and businesswoman climbed to its current position after climbing into the top 10 on March 1.
“How proud of our board member,” the fast-growing digital bank Nubank, whose board of directors has been part of Anitta since June 2021, posted on Twitter this Friday.
In 2020, the Netflix platform published the documentary series “Anitta, Made in Honório”, the neighborhood where she grew up, which shows her upward trajectory and her ambition to transcend the Brazilian market.
