A citizen video has been viralized on social networks by showing a fact that many qualify as an act of courage by a taxi driver in the La Cumbre neighborhood of Floridablanca, Santander, facing a stick to two alleged thieves who, apparently, tried to steal their belongings.
The facts, which occurred a few days ago according to local media reports, show how one of the subjects breaks the rear glass of the taxi with an object. In response, the driver of the vehicle reacts rapidly and faces the aggressor armed with a stick.
The images show how the alleged offender tries to turn on a motorcycle to escape, but the taxi driver increases and forces him to descend from the vehicle. The man runs away, while witnesses in the place encourage him with shouts of “dele, dele!”
Another subject who accompanied him was also on a motorcycle. Finally, both men escape in one of the vehicles, leaving the other abandoned motorcycle on the site. The taxi driver picks it up and takes it to a parking lot, as you can see in the video.
“I broke my glass, call the police!” The driver is heard to say after the altercation.
So far, the authorities have not officially spoken on the case, so it has not been confirmed whether it was an attempted theft or other situation. It is also unknown what happened to the motorcycle they left abandoned.
