The Confederation of Taxis (Confedetax) launched uA new strike for this Thursday in demand of an equitable regulation of the digital platforms by the authorities, since currently -the union says- They operate under unequal conditions compared to traditional taxis and harm public transport services.
What is the protest about?
The objective of the protest, promoted from Medellin and supported by several cities in the country, is to make visible the demands of the union so that concrete measures are taken to guarantee fair competition in the transport sector.
However, some union sectors of drivers have expressed their rejection of this protest. This is the case of some union representatives in Bogotá, who warned that they will not join the protest.
This was expressed by the leader of the taxi drivers of the country’s capital, Hugo Ospinahighlighting the positive management of the Mayor’s Office and compliance with the agreements reached on the last day of demonstrations.
According to the calls circulated through social networks, drivers began to mobilize at 7:30 a.m. at the different meeting points.
