Tax works achieve a new record with 452 projects

So far this year, the works for tax (OxI) set a new record and reached 452 projects for an amount of S/4,264 million, reported the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).

There was also a drop in production, reported the SNMPE.

The regional governments were the most dynamic actors, as explained by the MEF. These institutions registered 267 awards for S/2,250 million, which represents 52.8% of the amount awarded so far in 2025.

At the sector level, awards were concentrated on projects with high social impact: transportation (S/963 million), education (S/894 million), health (S/653 million) and public order and security (S/531 million).

In this regard, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Denisse Miralles, highlighted that the good performance confirms the maturity of the mechanism and its strategic role to accelerate the execution of public infrastructure.

“This record shows that Works for Taxes is an efficient, transparent mechanism that generates quality works for citizens. Trust between the public and private sectors is strengthened, and that is reflected in more investments with a direct impact on people’s lives,” he stated.

Likewise, he recalled that since 2009, the year in which the OxI mechanism was created, 1,056 projects were awarded for S/16,053 million. In addition, the participation of 385 companies has been registered as strategic allies.

Likewise, he indicated that in parallel, his sector is completing the new tax works regulations, which will expand the use of Investment Certificates for the payment of a greater range of taxes – including VAT and Income Tax of special regimes – and will allow the joint execution of investments between the three levels of government.
