The Municipality of Asunción awarded the seven winners of the VII Edition of the Ecological Nativity Scene Contest, whose main objective was to encourage recycling and promote environmental awareness in the context of Christmas.
Last Friday the prizes were awarded to the seven winners of the Ecological Nativity Scene Contestcampaign organized by the General Directorate of Environmental Management (DGGA) of the capital commune.
more than 20 peoplerepresentatives of families from Asunción, participated in the seventh edition of this campaign who has been in charge of promote environmental awareness among citizens through the elaboration of cribs with recycled elements.

The winners are: Catherine Dominguezfrom the San Pablo neighborhood; Zunilda Martinezfrom the Zeballos Cué neighborhood; Isaac Benitezfrom the Jara neighborhood; Maria Victoria Heiseckefrom the Santísima Trinidad neighborhood; Maria Alejandra Ozoriofrom the Tablada Nueva neighborhood; Gladys Aquino, from the Zeballos Cué neighborhood; Y Maria Antonia Formiglifrom the Las Colinas neighborhood.
The selection of the winners was in charge of the technical team of the DGGAthrough its Environmental Training and Promotion Center (CEPAM), according to a series of criteria such as the creativity and originality, the composition, recycling and reuse of solid wasteamong others.

With these criteria, this environmental campaign aims to meet the objective of promoting a process of environmental awarenessreforming the thinking of children, youth, adults and seniors and working on the importance of reuse and recycling.
The materials who were promoted for the construction of the cribs goes from bottles, plastic, glass, cans, old rubber, remains of metal parts and corks until cardboard, wood, stone, ceramics, iron, paper, fabrics, wire, paints, among others.
