A heavy rainfall recorded this Tuesday afternoon in the city of Tarma caused the streets to quickly flood, forcing passers-by to seek shelter for safety reasons. In a few minutes, the streets of Tarme were transformed into a river, making both vehicular and pedestrian traffic difficult. Local authorities recommend that the population take extreme precautions against the risk of new overflows and accidents due to the rains.
The impact of the storm also affected at least 10 educational institutions in the city. The Gustavo Allende Llavería Pedagogical Institute, one of the most affected, saw its classrooms and patio quickly flooded, forcing students to evacuate in the middle of the waters.
Likewise, the La Sagrada Familia Parish school, located near the main square of Tarma, suffered serious flooding, forcing nuns and parents to work together to remove the water and accumulated mud.
