The peasant mob punished the criminal who was saved by police officers from the threat of being burned alive.

The mayor of Urauchoc Silvia Galarza said that so far this year more than 130 sheep have been stolen, affecting ranchers in the area. “There is a lot of indignation, the next time they find some criminal they could reach more to put an end to their actions,” she said with concern.

Meanwhile, prosecutor Elías Revilla Zambrano said that the incident is under investigation. The alleged criminal was transferred to the Tarma Police Station.
