The mayor of the city of Tarija, Johnny Torres, admitted that it is necessary to bet on a federal model why is more successful, compared to communism or socialism that has been a failure in the world.
Torres gave the best example to the Federal Republic of Germany, which has become a “piggy bank” for all of Europe.
“I have heard it said that anyone who talks about federalism is treason or sedition, it is a lie. Talking about the federal system is a model of government, just like the communism or socialism that the MAS claims. They are models of government nothing more and that ends in a political proposal”, declared the building authority interviewed by EL DEBER.
The civic movement of Santa Cruz, Tarija, Potosí and other regions of the country see it as a governmental alternative after autonomy was not deepened and the centralist model persists.
“When a system restricts freedom, it cannot be considered a superior system. The person must fight until the end, if necessary, for the defense of the principles that are defended at any cost and price,” said Torres.
The building authority reaffirmed that is against a system that persecutes another that thinks differently and he was in favor of defending rights and principles as long as the democratic system in the country continues.
He did not rule out that the current political situation be discussed at the meeting of the Association of Municipalities of Bolivia (AMB) on the 27th of this month in Cobija (Pando).
In his opinion, this institution cannot be abstracted from the situation in the country, since all the building authorities are politicians and feel that it affects them in one way or another.
“Our country is at a critical juncture with respect to justice, with a political operation mode to prosecute everyone who thinks differently and ends up being prosecuted or imprisoned,” said Mayor Torres, who will give his management report on Tuesday.
The AMB summoned the mayors and mayors members to discuss the central issue on the modifications to the Organic Statute and its Regulations to adapt them to Law 351 of Legal Entities.
