The mayor of the city of Tarija, Johnny Torres, through a letter, requested an audience with President Luis Arce to talk about the execution of projects, including the construction of the wastewater treatment plant, the contamination of the Guadalquivir river, irrigation programs and others.
Torres hopes to meet with the president who is making a busy official visit for the departmental anniversary to be held on Saturday.
“Mr. President, the celebration of the 206 years of the Battle of La Tablada that took place on April 15, 1817 and the civic anniversary of this department, constitutes a propitious occasion for consider the indicated projects that in many cases are postponed for more than two decades,” says the letter from the building authority.
Torres hopes that the meeting can take place between this Friday or Saturday.
Likewise, the Director of Public Policies of the Government, Andrés Castellanos, reaffirmed that are awaiting a call from President Arce to meet with Governor Óscar Montes.
Castellanos mentioned that it is urgent to leave the political confrontation to define and coordinate a work agenda of the two levels of government for the development of the department of Tarija.
President Arce leads the delivery and inauguration of works from the first of this month.
This Thursday he traveled to the municipality of Entre Ríos for the premiere of a pressurized irrigation system and then inaugurate the educational unit and houses in the town of Zapaterambia.
In the afternoon went to the municipality of San Lorenzo for the delivery of irrigation systems, homes and the laying of the fundamental stone to build the Agro-inputs plant.
