80% of the fire in the Serranía de Sama was suffocated yesterday thanks to the collaborative action of a set of institutions in Tarija, said Volunteer Fire Commander “Knights of Fire”, Carlos Guzmán.
According to Guzmán, now 20% of the incident remains which is expected to control during this Sunday.

Guzmán highlighted the inter -institutional coordination and the hard work to control the incident in the northern part of the mountain range of Sama.
The director of the Risk Management Unit (UGR) of the City Hall of Cercado, Álvaro Baldivieso, coincided with the voluntary firefighter, saying that EThey went from risk to Turumayo, Lazareto, Los Pinos and Alto Senac after the threat of fire in recent days.
He added that 20% of the forest fire is active in surrounding areas to the community of San Pedro de Sola and other towns in the southwest part of the Sama Serranía.
Jorge Barrientos, from the Brasschaat Volunteer Firefighters, mentioned that their experience and other groups was essential to quell the heat spotlights.
