The attorney general, Tarek William Saabwarned the opponent Edmundo González Urrutia on Wednesday, November 13, that if he comes to Venezuela – as he has already reiterated on several occasions – he will be detained by the authorities “automatically.”

This was stated by Saab in an interview with AFP, where he did not specify whether there is an arrest warrant against the coordinator of Vente Venezuela, María Corina Machado, although he did say that she was being investigated.

“It is being investigated in the terms that I have already disseminated sufficiently, publicly and notoriously,” he responded.

He believed that in the violence recorded in the context of the post-electoral demonstrations there was “premeditation” involved, insisting that the opposition’s plan was “to claim fraud” and stressed that there is a “criminal law linked to adolescents” in Venezuela. , which establishes the ages between 14 and 17 years.

On the other hand, Tarek William Saab assured that in the country there are no children detained due to the protests registered between July 29 and August 1 in rejection of the results of the National Electoral Council (CNE), in which Nicolás Maduro was named winner of the presidential elections.

“In Venezuela there are no detained children, there are teenagers who have unfortunately confessed that they were used to cause acts of violence,” said the official on November 11, without giving figures, explaining those cases or responding to the complaints of torture and ill-treatment of the young people detained.
