Tarek William Saab: “Every public official must turn to the people”

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, highlighted that contact with people on the street is what has increased the perception of the Public Ministry (MP), as the most valued institution in terms of its management in public administration.

In an interview with the director of the polling firm Hinterlaces, Óscar Schémel, it was stated that 7 out of 10 Venezuelans have a favorable opinion of the MP’s management. “It is the first public institution most valued by Venezuelans,” said the interviewer.

In this sense, prosecutor Tarek William Saab thanked the citizens for their support and said that this acceptance has been possible thanks to the constant approach to popular grassroots organizations, something that the politician has been doing out of habit since his time as a student leader.

“Organically I formed myself as a revolutionary leader close to the people,” said Saab when talking about his beginnings in high school and university. “I never got used to being in an office with air conditioning, but (I was) listening to people, participating in assemblies, and that helped me to form as a leader after Chávez broke in, who unites the entire left.” social”.

“Anyone who holds an elected position or is in charge of a State institution has to turn to the people. “I did it as governor of Anzoátegui and I have kept it in the Prosecutor’s Office,” he highlighted.

“The prestige and credibility of the Public Ministry is not free… despite the campaign by extremist sectors, which dominate social networks and the media to brainwash, the results are visible,” said Saab about the programs he is carrying out. the MP as the MP goes to your Community, such as the protection of children and adolescents or those who protect the family from domestic violence.

Those responsible for the post-electoral violence were the commandos

Saab explained that the MP carried out 550 proceedings and 35 different means of criminal evidence to determine that the post-electoral violence of July 28 was instrumentalized by the so-called commandos and not by the Venezuelan State.

“Those who were shot were 23, plus two women for hate crimes, plus two young people who died on motorcycles trying to avoid barricades, plus an injured person who was shot and later died, making a total of 29 victims. All of them due to the violence of these violent groups,” said the prosecutor.

He said that “there has been no complaint up to this point that someone has taken to the MP saying that so-and-so was murdered by the action of state security forces. He then said that how are they going to blame the State for an action committed by violent groups?

The Arab-Israeli case

Of Lebanese origin, the attorney general has a special sensitivity for the Palestinian cause and has taken a position against the Israeli genocide. “Israel stole Palestine. The scope of that plan is not just Palestine. Palestinian soldiers have on their lapel a map that covers Palestine, Syria, Saudi Arabia, part of Iran. How come those lands belong to Israel?” he asked.

He said that “the world is seeing in real time the most brutal ethnic cleansing, which has surpassed that of Hitler. Because they want to wipe out the entire Palestinian Arab population, now they intend to do so with the Lebanese. “They are cowards, because if it is a war, confront them hand to hand, but they send drones that bomb hospitals, schools, residential buildings.”

He explained that the media and networks do the work of molding thoughts in favor of Israel, with the intended acceptance of Benjamin Netanyahu in international forums and scenarios. “It is a battle that we are fighting, where they have the power, because they are the owners of the media, but we must resist,” he said.

“We see that a military power like Israel attacks four countries and the UN does not stop it, what does one end up saying? “That the UN is part of the mechanism that the world’s superpowers have in their favor,” Saab commented indignantly.

He denounced that in the United States, apartheid has been applied to young university students who have opposed the genocide in Gaza. “They don’t give them scholarships, they don’t give them jobs, what is the democracy we are talking about?” he said.

A life dedicated to the defense of human rights

In the interview, prosecutor Tarek William Saab spoke about the differences that the country is experiencing today in terms of human rights, compared to what happened in the years of the Fourth Republic, where dissent was persecuted and disappeared without a trial.

“Forced disappearances in the 1960s reached 5,000, those taken to military courts without a trial formula reached 50,000, and 3,000 disappeared… then comes Caldera with the so-called pacification, when the CIA recruits left-wing leaders to place them under its control. favor. From there comes what President Nicolás Maduro calls the cowardly left,” he said.

He gave as an example of these sectors the leaders Pompeyo Márquez and Teodoro Petkoff, whom they placed as icons of the armed struggle and “it was not them, the icon of the armed struggle was Fabricio Ojeda,” said Saab.
