Within the framework of the meeting of the Public Powers to debate the Amnesty Law, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, presented his contributions on behalf of the Citizen Power.
The head of the Public Ministry highlighted the importance of this legislative process as a tool for the political and social stability of the country after recent events. “We are giving, extending a hand to that extraordinary gesture in the midst of this pain of the people of Venezuela for what actually happened unexpectedly on January 3,” he stated.
During his speech, Saab stressed the need to “be clear about the spirit of reconciliation, the spirit of conscience, the spirit of absolute pacification that the interim president Delcy Rodríguez and her team that accompanies her” have promoted with this initiative.
The Attorney General emphasized that this institutional position seeks to heal social wounds under a vision of justice that prioritizes coexistence over conflict.
“On behalf of the Public Ministry and I can also speak on behalf of the Citizen Power, we are giving and extending a hand to this extraordinary gesture in the midst of this pain of the people of Venezuela for what happened unexpectedly,” said the senior official.
Likewise, he pointed out that this measure should be interpreted by the international community as a step of high politics and humanity on the part of national institutions.
“I think this has to be seen on a global level as a truly human gesture that dignifies, that elevates the stature of the Venezuelan authorities,” Saab said during the meeting.
Finally, the representative of Citizen Power assured that the Venezuelan State is sending a clear message of peace. “What the Venezuelan State is demonstrating right now is nothing close to revenge, not revenge,” he concluded.
