The Republican candidate for the government of the state of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, defended today (19) the integration between the General Command of the Military Police and the General Directorate of the Civil Police. According to the candidate, the measure aims to bring the police commands closer to the governor.
“What is necessary is to have an integration between the General Command of the Military Police and the General Directorate of the Civil Police, putting an end to the intermediate level, with the executive secretariats. I need the commander-general of the PM and the director-general of the Civil Police closer to the governor”, said the candidate at a press conference in São Paulo.
Tarcísio stressed that he intends to maintain the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), but that the ideal model for managing the security area will still be discussed with specialists. “The idea is to maintain the SSP and work in a Civil Police – Military Police collaboration, which is what will work. You will only have quality public security if you work with the integration of police forces,” he said. “I understand that the best model, obviously the people being elected, we are going to design with the specialists in public security”.
