Boca Juniors suffered a severe blow this Saturday during their visit to Talleres de Córdoba, with which they deservedly lost 2-1 in a game on the third date of the Professional Soccer League.
At Mario Alberto Kempes, Talleres’ goals were scored by Michael Santos (28m PT) and “Equi” Fernández against (6m ST). Boca decorated the result with a goal from Luca Langoni (37m ST): the difference between the game of one and the other was much greater.
Talleres has six units and is one of the guards of the only leader so far, his classic rival, Belgrano (7). Boca, who with a victory would have reached the “Pirate” at the top, lost the undefeated and was left with four units (a victory over Atlético Tucumán and a tie with Central Córdoba from Santiago del Estero).
Talleres was superior in the balance of the first half and that is why they came to the break with a well-deserved partial victory.
The first passages of the match were even, with both teams trying to circulate the ball neatly, patiently looking for spaces. Boca tried to grow from the management of Óscar Romero, involved in driving in those initial moments, and Talleres did it with Garro and Pizzini.
But as time went by, the “T” built a better image from concentration, intensity and commitment to pressure and recovery. Hugo Ibarra’s men, who underwent a quick change (Orsini was injured and Merentiel entered), did not appear to be involved in the match. And they left gaps that the local was, little by little, taking advantage of.
That was how Villagra had it first, who finished off wide after a good collective maneuver; Catalan had it later, who reached “Chiquito” Romero in an individual play; and Santos had it, who received from Villagra and finished off the post.
In the next one, the Uruguayan did not fail: he received after a “carambola”, he beat Romero and waited for the validation of the VAR to unleash the celebration. He deserved, just like the transitory triumph. Gandolfi’s team had less of the ball but did not suffer in their bow.
THE VAR GAVE THE GOAL TO THE T ⚽?️

For the complement, “Negro” Ibarra bet on the entry of “Equi” Fernández to give balance to the middle and Langoni’s for Ramírez to gain weight in attack. And in the first few minutes it seemed to work, but it was just an illusion.
At 6m Talleres increased, with a goal against “Equi” himself (he wanted to cut off an advance in Pizzini’s area and did nothing more than confuse “Chiquito” Romero, who seemed somewhat slow in his reaction anyway). And at 10m Boca was left with ten due to the expulsion of Villa at the request of the VAR (aggression to Benavídez that the referee Herrera had not noticed).

From then on, Talleres had several opportunities to continue expanding the result. Villagra, in a great individual maneuver, lost one-on-one with Romero; Santos finished off wide; Bustos, who had come on as a replacement for the Uruguayan striker, made a mistake by “picking it” only in front of the goalkeeper from Boca.
This succession of errors in the definition led him to suffer more than expected, because at 37m Langoni discounted. And Herrera had to intervene with a brilliant reaction to avoid the tie before a header from Figal. But finally the “T” was able to endure the result, celebrated in a big way and gave Boca a blow.
On the next day, the fourth of the contest, Talleres will once again be local, now against Central Córdoba in Santiago del Estero (Sunday 19 at 9:30 p.m.) and the “xeneize” will receive Platense at the Bombonera, the same day but from 19.15.
In the “Xeneixe” team, striker Nicolás Orsini had to leave the playing field just 8 minutes after the game had elapsed, due to injury; and he was replaced by Miguel Merentiel.
