From this May 3 to May 5, 2023, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and 5:00 pm UV-B Radiation Indices will be recorded throughout the country, for which the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology of Panama (IMHPA) issued a Surveillance Notice for the Panamanian Caribbean and Pacific
The IMHPA maintained that when we find ourselves with the transition period with alternating cloudy and rainy periods with other dry periods with little cloudiness, there is the possibility of a high incidence of solar radiation and high UV-B Ultraviolet Radiation indices.
They highlighted that from May 3 to 5 the maximum UVB radiation indices may reach No. 14, mainly in the interior of the country.
The province of Bocas del Toro, Comarca Ngöbe Buglé, Veraguas Norte, Colón and Comarca de Guna Yala are under surveillance notice on the Caribbean slope.
for the Pacific slope, they warned of high (6-7) to extreme (+11) indices in Panama, Panama West, Coclé, Veraguas Sur and Centro, Chiriquí, Darién and the Emberá Regions.
The authorities indicated that caution should be exercised due to the rapid burning sensation and skin burns in a short time of direct exposure to the Sun.
