With discounts ranging from 10% to 80%, around 50 companies offer their products until November 29, 2021.
Since last November 26 and until this Monday, November 29, 2021, any user will be able to access the discounts of the so-called ‘cybermonday’. More than 50 businesses in Ecuador participate with offers, discounts and promotions.
The executive director of the Guayaquil Chamber of Commerce, Juan Carlos Díaz, assured that all offers are valid nationally and internationally, but shipments will only be made within Ecuadorian territory.
“Even a person who is in Spain and wants to surprise someone here will be able to buy and take advantage of the good prices,” he explained.
Participating businesses and their promotions are available on the platform www.cybermonday.ec.
Despite the efforts to carry out this conference, Díaz acknowledged that even the Ecuadorian offer it is not equal to others in the region. This is due to the tariffs that merchants in Ecuador must cover.
“We would like to have much cheaper prices, but we still have improvement opportunities that lie in the lowering of tariffs; we have tariffs equivalent to 9.5% in Ecuador, while Chile, Peru, etc., are at 2%. That makes our prices a little less economical, ”he explained.
However, despite the restrictions due to the tax burden in the country, the ‘cybermonday’ offers include discounts of between 10% and 80%.
How to take advantage of the offers without neglecting security?
The possibility of finding offers on the internet usually causes users to let your guard down In front of different security measures when buying, which ends up causing deception or scams.
In this context, the main recommendations are:
Make all purchases in stores or brands with a verifiable reputation, and seek customer opinions whenever possible. This can be found in the reviews of a digital commerce site, where the business operates, where friends or acquaintances who have previously bought there post comments on the social networks of clients that support the veracity of the site where the purchase will be made.
Verify that the messages of the brands or companies about unmissable offers are real. It is important to bear in mind that it can be a case of ‘phishing’, or fraudulent communications, where cybercriminals seek to steal various credentials, money or install malicious files on the computer.
Some indicators of ‘phishing’ are: The sender (be it his email address, telephone number or user of social networks) is not officially related to the entity he claims to represent. The means of communication is unusual (for example, a bank communicating on Twitter), there is constant insistence to enter a site or download a file to obtain a great benefit offered for free or to solve a serious problem, and a time limit (24 hours, or a week from the opening of the mail, among others) to perform the requested action.
Use the official sites and / or social networks of the shops to make purchases. One of the most common attacks in limited offer events is the theft of money or credit information through fake sites, impersonating popular companies, and taking advantage of the urgency generated in users by having offers and discounts for a limited time.
Check that the site where it operates has encryption in its communications. This means that, when transferring data, they are not readable by those who might intercept the connection. To do this, the URL of the site must begin with “https: //”, or have the famous padlock to the left of it.
