The optical fiber It has become one of the most advanced means for the transmission of Internet, telephone and television services in Chilean homes. In fact, 66% of fixed Internet connections in Chile correspond to fiber optics, positioning the country as the tenth in the world with the highest percentage of fixed broadband fiber subscriptions, according to the OECD.

In the context of further promoting connectivity, the Undersecretary of Telecommunications, Claudio Araya, announced that during the first semester of 2024, 340 of the 345 communes in the country will have optical fiber. This expansion will require workers specialized in the installation and maintenance of this high-tech network.
