The Minister of Defense, Jorge Taiana, highlighted the importance of “Latin American unity” and trusted that Argentina will overcome “the mixed crisis of the pandemic left by (Maurico) Macri and the Covid”, when speaking at a political training seminar in the University of La Plata.

“If Latin American unity was important at the beginning of the century, today it is more important. An effort must be made for that integration. No one is saved alone, says Francisco and he is right. You have to look for it by looking at the learning”, considered Taiana at the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences of the National University of La Plata (UNLP), where she addressed the tensions and opportunities of Argentina in the new world political and economic order.

In this sense, the minister pointed out: “I am a true optimist because I am based on the deepest pessimism, that it can always be worse. I trust Argentina. When we overcome this mixed crisis of the pandemic that Macri left behind and the Covid, we are going to have good years ahead.”

Within the framework of the political training seminar promoted by the Institute for Political Training and Strategic Studies (ICP) called “Argentina and the province of Buenos Aires in the face of the post-pandemic and the new international political reality”the national official spoke on “The new international context. Tensions and opportunities in the new global political and economic order”, before an audience that was attended by around 300 people.

The person in charge of presenting Taiana was the Minister of Justice of the province of Buenos Aires, Julio Alak, president of the ICP, who detailed the minister’s career and stressed that “he is one of the most faithful interpreters of the international policy designed by General Peron.

“We are facing a time of extraordinary acceleration, which began 50 years ago, and which is based on a technological revolution, on a change in the way it is produced, in what relates people, in the way it is distributed. that work and where the ways in which power is generated and accumulated are modified”, indicated the minister at the beginning of his dissertation.

“If Latin American unity was important at the beginning of the century, today it is more important. An effort must be made for that integration. No one is saved alone, says Francisco and he is right. You have to look for it by looking at the learnings”Jorge Taiana

Taiana considered that “this process is going to deepen and we don’t know all the consequences; the revolution is underway, it is changing the world and that is why there is so much uncertainty”.

“This process of technological change is accompanied by economic and political processes,” said the official, adding: “The economy reached a plateau, lost part of its momentum, globalization changed the forms of production and inequality has grown enormously.”

Along these lines, Taiana stated that “a world with the technological evolution that we have and with the transformations in power relations is not going to be a stable world, but rather an unstable one, it is going to be a world with multiple tensions, with severe economic conflicts , politicians and military”.

“It is going to be a world with frictions and those frictions history shows that they are resolved by means of force; the possibility of war is going to be present”, he indicated and listed that “other elements that must be taken into account are climate change, migrations, demographic changes and the women’s revolution”.

“Faced with this, we are with a multilateral system, which is the United Nations system; we defend multilateralism and international law for reasons of principle and because we know that if there is no law of the jungle where the most powerful wins and we are not the most powerful”Taiana said.

This was the second day of the cycle. The first was in charge of the former vice president of Bolivia Álvaro García Linera and in the following editions the governors of Chaco, Jorge Capitanich, and of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, will participate.
