TAFP and Ministry of Labor join forces for Panamanian labor administration

The presiding judge of the Administrative Court of the Civil Service, Carlos Ayala Montero, explained to the Minister of Labor, Jackeline Muñoz de Cedeño, that once the Executive appoints and ratifies the third judge, the Court will exercise its full functions in reference to appeals of human resources and dismissals that occur in different government entities, as determined by law.

The third magistrate must be appointed by the Executive after a selection of candidates, made by a commission made up of representatives of different government institutions, which must present to the President of the Republic a shortlist of candidates, and then ratified by the National Assembly.

In addition to the issue of the third TAFP magistrate, the meeting served to initiate rapprochement between the authorities of the Tribunal and MITRADEL, and to this end it was agreed to carry out a series of training sessions for the Ministry’s officials on the functions and scope of the Tribunal.

The presiding judge was accompanied by Judge Nelly Edith González and the substitute judge, Lyda Angélica Rodríguez.
