A seven-year-old boy died on Wednesday night after inhaling large amounts of carbon monoxide product of a fire that affected his house located in Paso de los Toros, Tacuarembo.
After 11 p.m., the 3rd Section of Paso de los Toros received the alert for a fire in a house. A mobile Fire Department was mobilized to the house located on Pedro Chiesa and Celestino Vargas streets. Upon arrival at the site they found the building on fire, which spread throughout the property. In addition, the fire reached the back of a car that was parked outside the compound.
A family was trapped inside the dwelling, so the Firefighters broke a window and entered. From inside the house they extracted a seven-year-old boy, who was unconscious.
The minor was transferred to a health center where they treated him, however, hours after his admission he died. The infant was unable to overcome the large amounts of carbon monoxide he inhaled.
Inside the house there were also four other people: a two-year-old boy, a six-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy, as well as two adults. These people were taken to a medical center and are currently out of danger.
Fire personnel, together with the Scientific police, worked on the scene of the fact. The authorities seek to determine what were the causes of the igneous focus.
