Professor Mónica Milagros Lanchipa Bergamini, a teacher of Regular Basic Education at the primary level, was selected as a finalist for the Global Teacher Prize 2026, one of the most important international recognitions that distinguishes teachers for their exceptional contributions to the education and learning of their students.
With 40 years of experience in educational service, the teacher began her pedagogical career at the Mercedes Indacochea school. She currently teaches classes to fifth and sixth grade students at the Santísima Niña María Educational Institution, a public girls’ school that serves more than a thousand students, where she continues to promote significant learning and comprehensive training.
Minister’s congratulations
In this regard, the Minister of Education Jorge Figueroa Guzmán expressed his congratulations and highlighted that Professor Lanchipa Bergamini is an example for the educational community, for the work developed throughout her teaching career and for the merits achieved, which have been recognized with important awards that deserve the applause and recognition of the country. “I hope to soon have the honor of receiving her in my office and to congratulate her personally for everything she has achieved so far,” he expressed.
In 2015, Professor Lanchipa was the winner of the National Contest for Good Teaching Practices with the experience titled “United in defense of a healthy environment for peace”, presented in the Primary EBR category, subcategory “Development of scientific competencies and care of the environment”, evidencing her commitment to a contextualized education oriented towards sustainable development.
In recognition of her outstanding work and contribution to the national educational system, in 2016, she was awarded the Magisterial Palms, in the rank of Educator.
Lanchipa’s trajectory reflects a commitment to educational excellence, pedagogical innovation and the training of responsible citizens.
