Seeking to bring God closer to the hearts of people and revalue religious activities per Holy Week, the theatrical anima group of the Franciscan Spirit Holy Parish of Tacna carried out dramatization of the passion and death of Jesus Christ through the 14 stations.
Since February a group of 40 people has been working hard in the preparation of representations for Holy Week, which began Ramos on Sunday with the recreation of Jesus’ income to Jerusalem; Holy Thursday, the capture of Christ; and on Good Friday with the Via Crucis of the Passion and Death of Jesus Christ.
Young people behind the character
The director of the theater, the social communicator Milkia Bravo, has been playing the Virgin Mary for 23 years and on the journey he is barefoot and her character moves the attendees when playing the Mother of Jesus and showing the pain that the Virgin felt.
“We recreation is done for the love of God and live Holy Week, I realize that the tradition is lost and we must assume that God is first in our hearts and bring him closer to the population,” he said.
He noted that they seek to make interpretation as real as possible and tell that there are another ten actors who have more than 20 years participating in dramatization.
Guillermo Velasco plays Jesus
In the skin of Jesus Christ was Guillermo Velasco Cáceres (36), who interprets it for the first time. He says that assuming the role helps him as a person to keep Christ in his life, give him peace and tranquility.
“I do it for a family issue that happens to me and I want to tell Jesus that I am present, that I am fighting and that I will not lower my arms,” said Velasco, who does not rule out interpreting Jesus again. He is the sixth actor who assumes this role in Holy Week.
Pilgrimage in the hills of the city
The representations of Vía Crucis were replicated in other temples of the city and even making pilgrimage to the Autual, Chastudal and Intiorko hills in charge of faithful next to the priests of their jurisdictions. Others made the journey of the 14 stations in their areas.
The bishop of the diocese of Tacna and Moquegua, Monsignor Marco Cortez Lara, greeted the participation of the Catholics in the Crucis via and pointed out that the religious act has been carried out for 1,500 years, in which not only believers participate in seeking a redemption.
