Serious questions that must be answered in the coming days have been raised in the general elections of the board of directors of the Association of the Board of Users of the Tacna Free Trade Zone (AJU Zotac), to be held on August 18.

On August 2, the merchant Marco Platero Ramos from the 28 de Julio Fair filed a complaint against the list headed by Ernesto Saluca Paucara, which also includes the candidate for prosecutor Néstor Mollinedo Chayña and the candidate for delegate of the Zofratacna administration committee Isaac Chili Quispe.
Objection filed against presidential candidate
According to Platero, Article 42 of the institution’s statute states that the board of directors is made up of 10 people and Article 42 indicates that those who apply for director positions must not have any debts with the association.
He claims that Isaac Chili Quispe did not present his financial report to the assembly of presidents and delegates at the end of his term in 2022. He also points out that the current candidate for president of Aju Zotac Ernesto Salluca and Néstor are also involved in this omission because they were part of that 2020-2022 board of directors.
They accuse him of not presenting a certificate of criminal record
He added that the current presidential candidate has not presented a certificate of criminal record, an essential requirement as mandated by Article 17, paragraph A of the election regulations. According to what they pointed out, the electoral committee headed by Alfredo Arrazola Rondón has not yet commented on this request for objection despite more than six days having passed. They hinted that the members of the electoral committee, Alfredo Arrazola and Sonia Quille, “support the eternal leaders who rotate their positions since the president of Zofratacna, Efraín Mamani.
Platero urged the president of the electoral committee to fulfill his duties, reminding him that he is not obliged to formulate the objection since the electoral committee must act ex officio, otherwise they would be liable to sanctions for creating problems since they can challenge the results. “Let them be clean elections since society is very tired of this type of cases in which people want to cling to their positions for more than 20 years,” he demanded.
Former President Chili Quispe makes his statement
Correo contacted the former president of AJU Zotac, Isaac Chili Quispe, who responded that Platero Ramos is out of date. “It is not my fault that he is not informed. When I handed over my position, I made my financial report in writing and I gave it to the current president Luis Chino Vargas and his treasurer,” he stressed.

He deplored Platero Ramos, recalling that he was the president of the electoral committee and did not give an account of the money that was given to him to carry out the elections. “The electoral committee was given money and he, as president, has not given the financial report until now, he has no moral authority,” he complained. Regarding the fact that the presidential candidate Ernesto Salluca has not presented his certificate of criminal record, he said that this is already being processed and he will present it shortly.
Elections will be held on Sunday, August 18
According to the election schedule, the official lists should be published on August 10 and 11; on the 18th, voting will take place at the tables set up in all sectors. “There are 10,000 merchants affiliated with the AJU Zotac, however there are only about 800 to 1,000 registered due to the negligence of delegates such as Platero (delegate of the 28 de Julio Fair),” said Isaac Chili.
