The book “Run run por la ciudad” by writer and journalist Alicia Carbajal Arenas, daughter of Óscar Eduardo Carbajal Soto, who was director of the newspaper La Voz de Tacna and deputy for Tacna in the government of Manuel A. Odría, was presented at a full house at the Basadre Museum House.

The book was sponsored by Electrosur SA and shared among guests and representative institutions as part of the company’s commitment to responsibility and contribution to the culture of Tacna.

“This book, with anecdotes and caricatures, captures the experiences of Tacna and remains immortalized in the hearts of the people of Tacna, with its corners, alleys and characters, which makes us feel proud of this land,” said the president of the board of Electrosur, Héctor Liendo Alcázar.

The writer emphasized that the name “Run run por la ciudad” was born without thinking twice, since it was the name of a column she wrote at the age of 16 in La Voz de Tacna and that it was very popular in the times “when Tacna was small and gossip” spread easily.
Delay in publishing it
“It is thanks to the promotion of the great Bolognesi school unit, to my friend the doctor Edgar Tejada, to whom I owe the fact of being published today,” recalled the author.
He said that everyone thought the same thing, that he should compile the articles that he eventually published into a book, they had recognized them and liked them, they agreed that he had to do it and that’s how the idea arose since it was not in his mind, otherwise he would have done it much earlier.
