This was reported by the general manager of the Tacna Regional Government (GRT), Jaime Carpio Camacho, when responding that this project in progress is another of the problems that have been received from the previous administration. The work was to be delivered on June 11, is 65% complete and the company is facing financial problems with debts to Sunat.
Regional Government will analyze the proposal
“It is in a critical phase. I understand that they are submitting a request for economic intervention. We will analyze it to see if the law allows it, and if not, we will have to reject it. If we do not proceed, a much more drastic measure will surely be taken,” said the official.

He explained that economic intervention means that a joint account is opened between the contractor and the contracting party, in this case the Regional Government, to ensure that the money allocated is actually used for this purpose.
Company faces debts with Sunat
“The contractor claims a lack of financing on their part, the GRT has complied with the payment of all the appraisals and no observations have been made. What happens is that the contractor has some problems with the Sunat,” said the engineer.
Regarding the time it will take to make a decision, he said that the request should have been formalized by September 3. “We have to analyze it because, point one: we have to safeguard the interests of Tacna. And point 2: our own administrative responsibility as well,” he noted.
The work began on March 28, 2022 and has a budget of 45 million soles.
