A lit candle caused a fire this Sunday morning on the second floor of a house located in the Bacigalupo neighborhood council, in the Cercado de Tacna.

The incident occurred in the building at 634 Tarata Street, around 8:00 a.m., when the candle lit for an Advent wreath for the Christmas holidays fell, causing the fire to spread rapidly.
Neighbors helped with buckets of water
The owners of the house together with neighbors tried to control the fire with buckets of water but it was all useless. Two fire fighting units from the Fire Department arrived and put an end to the incident.

The “men in red” removed the burned goods from the second floor and personnel from the Gonzales Vigil police station arrived to collect information on the incident that did not cause any injuries. State Security personnel will determine the circumstances of the accident and those responsible.
