Santo Domingo.- The authorities of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), reported the cessation of their administrative and teaching work at the academy due to the preparations for the elections next Wednesday.
The suspension was confirmed as of this Monday, through a press release, signed by the rector, Emma Polanco, in which it is reported that all work is suspended until next Monday the 20th.
The electoral process in the Uasd is scheduled to start at 08:00 in the morning, and culminates with the closing of the polling stations at 8:00 at night.
According to the electoral register of the academy, there are about 3,215 voters with the right to vote, and 108 positions will be elected, culminating.

In these elections, the professors, employees, and a representation of the students, will have to elect their new rector, four vice-rectors, and a total of 108 management positions that comprise the 15 campuses scattered in different regions of the country.
In addition, of the deans, vice-deans, as well as 51 deputy directors of schools, the different candidates for the positions mentioned, will have to be measured in a first electoral round, and those who fail to obtain the necessary number of votes, on that day, will have to go to a second lap.
Teacher Editrudis Beltrán, who is on the ticket of the Triunfo Universitario movement, is the main contender to be defeated by Jorge David Asjana, who is a candidate for the Gran Alianza Nacional movement, and who in his main proposal has said that the Uasd must continue with its origin of connecting with society in general in which the critical thinking of Dominicans can be developed.
