Susel Paredes presents a motion of interpellation against Santiváñez: "The people are horrified by crime"

Susel Paredes cuestionó duramente la gestión de Santiváñez.

“It’s a real disaster.” With these words, Congresswoman Susel Paredes described the management of the Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez, after announcing that she is presenting a motion of interpellation against Dina Boluarte’s favorite official.

LOOK Dina will continue to embrace Minister Santiváñez for his ‘good management’ and says she does not listen to criticism

In dialogue with Peru21the Primero La Gente legislator indicated that the level of insecurity experienced in the country “has never been seen before” and Santiváñez must give an explanation to the country.

The motion is presented by the parliamentarian Ruth Luque. “I do not believe anything the minister says because regarding the audios he first said that it was the voice of Carlos Álvarez, which seems to me to be a tremendous disgrace. It is a serious lack of respect to try to involve an artist in a criminal act,” she said.

“The situation has gotten out of hand“They are killing transporters and construction workers. Something like this has not been seen for years, one does not know if one will return home alive. In addition, there are many reasons to doubt their capacity,” he said on Monday.

Ruth Luque, for her part, said that Santiváñez is “a highly questioned minister, with audio recordings that also compromise his ethics and the actions of the government. This last weekend we have learned of more cases of murders resulting from extortion in the transportation sector, as well as the growth of contract killings throughout the country. I have heard congressmen from various political positions question the minister’s actions. This is an opportunity to monitor, because the life, security and integrity of Peruvians are at stake.”

THERE IS NO INTELLIGENCE OR CRIME PREVENTION

After being asked about what President Dina Boluarte said, who today praised Santiváñez’s “good management”, Susel Paredes reaffirmed that this was impossible, since the head of the sector has shown that there is no prevention of crime, that there are no results against the advance of crime and that there is no intelligence work.

Along those lines, she expressed her indignation at the lack of concrete actions to capture Vladimir Cerrón, a fugitive from justice for more than 300 days.

“On top of that, he is fighting with the Public Prosecutor’s Office instead of working hand in hand. It is a disgrace,” he told this newspaper.

“I couldn’t rank who is the worst Interior Minister, but this one is terrible,” Paredes said.

Now he will begin the process of collecting signatures and hopes that it will be submitted to the Plenary for a vote on whether to debate it: “We need the minister to come to Congress and tell us what he is doing, to tell us that it is not his voice (in the audios with ‘Culebra’) and to explain what he is doing for citizen security. The people are horrified, North Lima is terrifying, we cannot live like this.”
