the congresswoman Susel Paredesof the Purple Party, said that both the Comptroller General of the Republic and the Attorney General’s Office must investigate the accusation made by an official of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of an attempt to direct state advertising against Aníbal Torres.
“The statements of the lady in charge of communications of the PCM now have to be taken, analyzed by the prosecution if there is evidence of a crime and by the Comptroller because there are some processes that have to be followed”he indicated in statements to RPP.
The non-grouped parliamentarian spoke in this way after the statements made by Ximena Pinto, secretary of Social Communication of the PCM, about a request that Aníbal Torres refused to attend so that state advertising is not granted to the group El Comercio and prioritize means in regions.
“For the institutionality to function, each body in charge must take care of investigating. I call on the Comptroller and the Attorney General’s Office to take the actions according to their competence”Paredes said.
Faced with the accusation made by Pinto, Prime Minister Aníbal Torres assured that he is not acting outside the law and that he pointed out that state advertising must be broadcast in state and regional media.
“I told him: ‘there are also other media and you have to select among the other media, but state advertising should be done mostly in the state media and you also have to consider the media of the regions and the media local’. This is how we have treated it in the cabinet of ministers and that has its reason for being “he added in statements to the press.
