New details continue to be known about the serious accident of a bus transporting veterinary students on the road that leads from Bogotá-Mosquera to the municipality of La Mesa, in Cundinamarca.

On a curve, at kilometer 9, the car left its course and overturned on the road, leaving five young people dead, identified as Karen Lorena Camero Galvis, María Alejandra Blanco Bueno, Paula Andrea Camargo Marín, Valentina Cifuentes Rueda and Mileidy Katherine Galvis Moreno, between 18 and 24 years old.
Another 23 people traveling in the car suffered minor injuries. Once the accident occurred, several of them helped those who were seriously injured.
Precisely, one of the survivors of the tragedy narrated what those moments of anguish and anxiety were like due to what happened last Saturday, October 5, when the 55 young students of the National Educational Corporation (CEN) undertook a trip in two buses to make a animal care.

«The bus stopped almost out of nowhere. The man (driver) tried to accelerate to move further. Before trying to brake or stop, he continued accelerating further. Suddenly, it started to smell very burnt. We all said it was smelling very burnt. The man didn’t do anything either, he decided to continue,” said a young woman who did not want to reveal her identity.
And he added: «At a point on the way down, he does not receive the brake and he begins to pump the brake, but it does not stop the bus. He turns to look at the teacher and the teacher tells us, ‘guys, hold on tight.’ The man diverted like two cars. He was going super fast when the time came, when he overturned. “We all fell and I closed my eyes because it was something very shocking for me.”
The young student said that the driver tried to maneuver the vehicle to avoid the rollover, but it was impossible due to the failure of the vehicle, apparently in the brakes.
