The National Institute of Aquatic Spaces (INEA) maintains coordination with neighboring countries for the search and rescue actions of six of the seven crew members who were shipwrecked on the cargo ship Arcángel Miguel (registration AMMT-CA-0004) in Colombian waters.
The INEA through its Twitter account @inea_venezuela informs about the rescue of one of the survivors and releases a statement in which it gives more details about the event that occurred in jurisdictional waters of the Republic of Colombia, specifically in front of the town of Puerto Estrella, The last Sunday.
“The survivor, who goes by the name of Juan Carlos Sánchez Sánchez, testified how the waves of the sea hit the ship Arcángel Miguel, managing to get out of the boat in time, staying afloat in a life raft,” the statement reports.
He also points out that the survivor saw when the ship sank and none of the other crew members came out.
