A few days before the electoral tournament, which will define who will be the next president of the Republic of Panama; the presidential candidate for the Panameñistas Alliance- Democratic Change, Rómulo Roux, occupies first place in voting intentions, along with José Raúl Mulino; This is according to the most recent survey, carried out between April 22 and 24, 2024, by the pollster Infodata 360.
The data collected, through the application of 1,200 surveys, in the homes of voters qualified for the May 5 elections, indicate that both candidates have a technical tie with 24.8% of voting intentions leaning towards Roux, who is located only 1.3% of the candidate for the Realizing Goals and Alliance parties, José Raúl Mulino, who dropped a few tenths with respect to the previous measurement with 26.1% of the voting intention.
In this survey, Ricardo Lombana from the Other Path Movement party occupies second position with 14.1% while Martín Torrijos is in third place with 12.1%.
Although the overall result places Rómulo Roux in second place, 22.6% of those surveyed believe that he has a better chance of winning in the next elections, versus 21.8% who believe that the winner will be Mulino.
In the survey, the question was asked: Which candidate do you think would achieve the greatest economic growth in Panama?; In this question, the first option was Roux, who achieved 24.1%, above candidates such as José Raúl Mulino 20.6% and Martín Torrijos 16.5%.
The survey also shows that voters look for a candidate “who has experience in the private sector so that he knows how to create jobs,” with 63%, over one who has experience in the
government so that you can start your job on day one with 37%.
