Supreme Prosecutor's Office orders preliminary proceedings against Congressman Freddy Díaz accused of rape

The Second Supreme Criminal Prosecutor’s Office decided to initiate preliminary proceedings against the congressman accused of the alleged crime against sexual freedom to the detriment of a Parliament worker.

As recalled, the legislator was denounced by the victim at the San Andrés police station, in downtown Lima, for this crime in the form of rape of a person in a state of unconsciousness or unable to resist.

Likewise, it was ordered to carry out urgent and necessary investigation acts to determine the events that occurred last Wednesday in an office of the National Parliament.

For this complaint, the legislator was expelled from the Alianza para el Progreso caucusa group for which he was elected representative in Parliament for the period 2021-2026.

As it is recalled, a woman who works in Congress yesterday denounced Congressman Freddy Díaz, elected by APP, for the crime of rape.

The woman pointed out that drank alcoholic beverages with the legislator while they were talking about work matters, and then she would have been the victim of rape.

The victim went to the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations (MIMP) to report what had happened. Said portfolio urged the Public Ministry to act quickly in the case.
