In the document, which is addressed to the head of the Judiciary Javier Arévalo, they ask that the call be made because they want to discuss the bills proposed by Congress and that would affect the development of the work of the justice system.

“The agenda item to be discussed in said session will be the analysis of the scope of the bills presented in Congress that have an impact on the jurisdictional functions of the Judiciary, due to their possible impact on judicial independence and the judicial system. administration of justice,” the lawyers maintain.

This request responds to the thirteen bills to modify the Constitutional Procedural Code, which parliamentarians have presented. This type of regulations would prohibit precautionary measures and immediate actions of the ruling when it is sued.

The supreme members would not be the only ones who have opposed these projects. The Association of Judges for Justice and Democracy (JUSDEM) also spoke out and asked for a Plenary Room to debate the legislators’ proposals.
