After the constant rejection and complaints against the increase in municipal taxes by the City Hall, which became effective through Agreement No. 142 of August 2, 2022 that established the moratorium, this Friday, February 10, the Supreme Court of Justice temporarily suspended the measure.
The decision was adopted by the Third Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, who reported the provisional suspension of the effects of the Seventh, Eighth and Ninth Articles of Agreement No. 142 of August 2, 2022, issued by the Municipal District Council from Panama.
The Court indicated that “the measure of provisional suspension of the Administrative Act adopted in the case under analysis” does not represent an advance of the Decision of the Chamber.
They stressed that at the corresponding procedural moment, the Chamber will proceed to verify the merits of the situation raised to arrive at a final opinion.
