Santo Domingo.- The session of the National Council of the Magistracy (CNM) to evaluate three magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) concluded this Thursday without setbacks, the legal consultant of the Executive Power, Antoliano Peralta Romero, reported.

Peralta explained that, according to the law and the regulations, judges whose constitutional period ends must be evaluated to decide whether they will be confirmed or replaced.

The CNM spokesperson indicated that, unless otherwise in the President of the Republic, the Council will meet again this Friday to issue a resolution on the permanence of the magistrates.

In the event that any is not ratified, its place will be included in the next call for aspiring aspiring Court of Justice and the Superior Electoral Court.

If the three are confirmed, two places will be available for judges, lawyers or members of the Public Ministry interested.

Deputy Tobias Crespo, legislative advisor, stressed that the evaluation was developed “satisfactorily”, noting that the magistrates presented their career and performance during the last seven years. Crespo said that the final deliberation will be held tomorrow at 5:00 in the afternoon, at which time the CNM will make the final decision on the ratification of the judges.
