About the last hours of Saturday, from the Single Port Union and Related Branches (Supra), a document was issued after the union’s Executive Committee met. It states that the union’s executive meeting had as its focus “reaching a definitive solution.”
Supra suspends “general measures for a period of 48 hours. Thus giving rise to the request of the MTSS. In this way, they are interrupted for the purpose of “having the necessary time to continue with the negotiations.” Mainly with regard to “the different actors involved in the problem raised”, it continues to be expressed in the document.
It adds that it continues “only with the stoppage resolved in the Assembly by the Base Union of Montecon«. This is because “they are the workers directly affected in this conflict. On the closing of the text, a call is made to the Executive Power to “concrete the solutions in a formal way, to the jobs affected by the aforementioned Decrees.”
“Not for sale” says Supra
At the end of the communication issued by Supra, it is indicated that “The workers must not assume the political cost of this agreement! The port is not for sale, it defends itself”, closes the text.
