The Governors of the Great North expressed this Friday their “support” for the national government in “the decision to decentralize”, in the case of the City of Buenos Aires, “transport management” and stressed that “all governors have been consistent in this.”
“We appreciate the response of national officials who have had a positive response on the issue of public transport,” said the governor of Santiago del Estero, Gerardo Zamora, at a press conference offered by the provincial leaders of the Norte Grande after the meeting they held in the city of Puerto Iguazú, Misiones.
In this sense, the president assured that “Since the country did not have the approved Budget for 2022, the provinces were in a complex situation to face as of Februarywhich is when the subsidy agreements begin to take effect, the possibility of dealing with the issue of transportation”.

“In addition, we had agreed on an opinion in the National Congress in December that allowed an increase, which was part of a claim to improve and break the asymmetries,” explained the governor of Santiago del Estero.
In this sense, he maintained that “we are going to maintain them and continue raising them, that it is important that the distribution of the resources that belong to all Argentines be distributed in a more equitable way and break the inequalities that the North of Argentina has been suffering”.
Zamora explained that this “implies, for example, that the transport ticket is 18 pesos in the City of Buenos Aires and in the AMBA, and in the North the ticket is worth 50 pesos”.
“It was decided to move forward by universalizing the SUBE card” and stated that “many provinces in the interior do not have it and this will mean an improvement for certain sectors of the population”Gerardo Zamora
“There is a big difference for which we are going to continue working. We have also issued a declaration to support the National Government in the decision to decentralize, in the case of the city of Buenos Aires, the management of the decentralization of transport in responsibility. In This has been all the consistent governors,” he stressed.
And I add: “We have the good news that the Minister of Transportation announced, that the 46 billion pesos that were arranged in the ruling are going to be executed.”
Zamora estimates that these funds will allow the provinces of northern Argentina to receive 72% more in this area compared to 2021, which we greatly appreciate the national government.
Zamora also pointed out that “the other communication from the Minister of Transport is that it was decided to move forward by universalizing the SUBE card” and stated that “many provinces in the interior do not have it and this will mean an improvement for certain sectors of the population” .
