Supplies and data

Sampling of shops and companies will be carried out soon

For a more accurate knowledge of the reality of the commercial square of the city of Melo, the Commercial and Industrial Center of Cerro Largo is organizing, together with the Ministry of Industry, a sampling of businesses and companies.

This seeks to have specific supplies and data on the situation in the sector in the departmental capital.

“Very few hours ago I met with the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining. We are going to make a sampling of local trade to have an idea of reality. It consists of a kind of survey with quite basic questions to have a more general notion. You are talking to incorporate several more actors to the University of the Republic to participate. Everything is spoken, but there is still nothing defined, ”said Andrés Martínez.

“We already have the money available for that,” he said. “For a cost issue this sampling will be done only in Melo,” he added.

“With this tool we can evaluate the situation as well as possible,” said the president of the Commercial and Industrial Center.

“It is also working on a price comparison, with another company, with Brazil where the exchange rate is included. We also have been working, ”he said during the live interview of The Daily Professional.

“We need all this information when we go to Montevideo to interview the authorities,” he said. “It is not going to sit and say that for example rice or gasoline are more expensive. It is not so. You have to carry exact data, measured for a time to have all the information, ”he said.

“The idea is to know all the businesses in the city of Melo no matter if they are in formality or not,” said the president of the Merchal Guild of Cerro Largo. “We simply want to know where we are standing and what is the situation of the departmental capital,” he reiterated.

Disgust results in year -year sales

From the institution a follow -up was followed during the month of January. “Those who told us that sales were above the previous year were around 20% of merchants. The vast majority was equal to 2023 and in a lower percentage they told us that it was worse, ”Martínez revealed.

Electronics and clothing were the items in which there was an increase in sales, something that has been repeated in recent years.

Annual planning

The mall is already programming the activities that will be developing throughout 2025.

“We are going to start the year planning all the activities we are going to do. We want to leave the awards and promotions that we are going to promote ”established.”

Andrés Martínez that has already been completed for the Frontera departments a beneficial agreement that is channeled through the Bank of the Republic. “This is a percentage of discounts with a type of card that promotes the purchase of various items. We believe that it will be a tool that will gradually become useful. At this time we are making contacts at the level of shops that can participate. Then that will move to the population so that I can use that benefit. It has a maximum amount of $ 3,000 per month. Among everything is positive, ”Andrés Martínez ended up saying.
