The Congressional Oversight Commission agreed to change the status of witnesses to those investigated to Elizabeth Añaños, Geiner Alvarado Y Salatiel Marrufoformer vice minister, minister and former head of advisors to the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, respectively.
The decision was adopted within the framework of the investigations for alleged crimes of corruption in the execution of investment projects financed by the municipalities of Anguía, Chachapoyas and Chadín.
On September 15, the plenary session of Congress approved giving investigative powers to the Oversight Commission to investigate alleged irregularities in projects in towns such as Anguía and Chadín. The decision was taken by 71 votes in favor, 30 against and 2 abstentions.

Legislator Héctor Ventura (Popular Force), who chairs the commission, regretted that the former president, who went to Congress with his lawyer last Friday, has made the decision to retire without providing any type of testimony.

“The ex-president has been absent up to four times on the grounds that he did not have a lawyer, he is hindering the development of these investigations”he expressed during the session.
