The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed, this Sunday (11), the schedule for the 2026 edition of the Supercopa Rei, which pits the winners of the Brazilian Championship and the Copa do Brasil from the previous season against each other. The game between Flamengo and Corinthians is scheduled for 4pm (Brasília time) on February 1st, at the BRB Mané Garrincha Arena, in Brasília. The day and location of the competition had already been announced by the entity on December 31st.
Both clubs had the pleasure of lifting the Super Cup in previous years. Champion of the Copa do Brasil in 2025, Corinthians won the second edition of the tournament, in 1991, defeating Flamengo themselves 1-0, at Morumbi, in São Paulo. That was the last time the confrontation took place until 2020, when the duel was resumed by the CBF.
Rubro-Negro, in turn, has become sovereign in the Supercup since the tournament’s resumption, winning the 2020 (against Athletico-PR), 2021 (Palmeiras) and 2025 (Botafogo) editions. The Rio de Janeiro team was also present in the 2022 and 2023 decisions, when it was surpassed by Atlético-MG and Verdão, respectively.
