The National Administration of Drugs, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) recently indicated through its official bulletin that the marketing of a type of sunflower oil is prohibited.
As he referred the entitythe measure will apply throughout the national territory, this after, after several investigations, it was confirmed that the product was falsely labeled, as indicated by the ANMAT.
In this sense, the sunflower oil brand Sampietro Nuestro Sabor, from now on may not be produced, divided or marketed throughout the country, as indicated by the ANMAT.
After reviewing the presentation of the product, which indicated that it had a net content of 900 ml, with an expiration date of 03/29/2023, it was possible to corroborate that “it did not comply with current food regulations”.
Even the entity indicated that, through the Directorate of Bromatology of the Municipality of La Paz, “9 bottles of the product in question were seized until its legitimacy was verified.”
After analysis, the ANMAT announced that “the RNE was in force and that it corresponded to the company name Servimax Industrial y Comercial SA, in the vinegar production category” and that, in turn, the RNPA registry “was non-existent”.

After the complaints, the Directorate of Bromatology of the Municipality of La Paz began an audit at the place of purchase, which was linked to the firm Distributor Distri Esperanza.
In that audit, the control entity found several units of the product, of which 696 were intervened. Despite this, the merchants could not prove that they produced the oil or their labels.
In addition, it was found that the company had not produced this type of product for more than 2 years, and that the one that was marketed did not correspond to the one previously produced by the company.
Therefore, by not being “reliably and clearly identified as produced, processed and/or fractionated in a specific establishment, They may not be manufactured in any part of the country, nor marketed or sold in the territory of the Republic.”.
