Sunedu withdraws licensing from the Peruvian-German Private University following complaints from students

The National Superintendence of Higher University Education (Sunedu) announced the Withdrawal of institutional licensing from the Peruvian-German Private University (UPAL) due to various serious violations.

The sanctioning process against UPAL began on June 19, after the Sunedu’s Administrative Responsibilities Determination Unit (UDRA) received multiple complaints from students.

Within the complaints, the lack of information regarding the start of the 2024-II academic year, which was due to begin on August 19.

In addition, Sunedu detected that lUPAL is facing serious financial difficultiesAccording to the entity, several of its teachers resigned due to lack of payments.

In addition, between 2021 and 2023, lThe university only hired one research professor registered in the National Registry of Science, Technology and Technological Innovation (Renacyt), when he had been required to hire at least seven.

Faced with these irregularities, Sunedu made the decision to withdraw the institutional license from UPALThe university now has 15 business days to appeal this measure.

During this time, must decide whether it can continue offering the educational service or facilitate the migration of its students to other institutions so that they can complete their studies.

Sunedu has also demanded that UPAL duly inform its students about this. through its website and digital communications.
