The CIMA Latin American University, the José Carlos Mariátegui University and the Néstor Cáceres Velásquez Andean University are those that should operate only until tomorrow.
By law, what corresponds to these study centers is a gradual closure. This means that they will only be able to teach classes to those students who are in their final university cycles, not open new admission calls and finish delivering bachelor’s degrees and degrees to the corresponding students.
The total and formal closure of these universities must be within a maximum period of two years, and they must provide facilities for their students to move to new centers of higher education.
The last institution that began this process was the Scientific University of Peru (UCP). In 2023, Sunedu gave the order to cease the activities of said study house. His students had no problems with transfers.
