Today the meeting to form the Oversight Committee was held, created within the framework of the declaration of the state of emergency in Metropolitan Lima and the Callaowhich will be chaired by the Minister of Transportation and Communications, Aldo Prieto Barrera, and made up of the heads of twelve other public institutions.
At the meeting, the head of SUNAT, Edward Tovar Mendoza, was appointed as technical secretary of the aforementioned Committee.
In accordance with Supreme Decree No. 124-2025-PCM, this Committee will be in charge of planning and executing daily inspection operations and establishing joint action protocols that can be applied during the state of emergency in the capital.
Likewise, it will implement a national registry of inspection and public reports with compliance indicators and applied sanctions. The rule states that the neighborhood citizen security committees, prefects and sub-prefects will provide information to the Committee for decision-making.
The Oversight Committee is made up of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Osiptel, National Police of Peru, Public Ministry, Secretariat of Government and Digital Transformation of the PCM, Cyberdefense Operational Command of the Armed Forces, INPE, Migrations, Sucamec, Sutran, ATU, SUNAT and Dirandro.
