As he recalled, from December 2024, the digital platforms Not domiciled in Peru have the obligation to receive and/or withhold the General Sales Tax (IGV). In statements to RPP, he explained that among the main companies registered in the Single Taxpayer Registry (RUC) are Netflix, Amazon, Disney, Facebook, TikTok, Indrive, Apple, Sony, Google, Spotify, which represent 90% of the market.

With this result, Víctor Mejía stated that the collection expectations for this concept are encouraging and they expect it to total approximately S/600 million this year.

PROJECTION

The Sunat representative reported that in 2024 tax collection reached S/155,756 million, which meant S/423 million more than had been anticipated. In addition, the final amount was S/8.5 billion more than in 2023.

“The first months were difficult, but from the second half it began to recover,” said the official and pointed out that they identified gaps that they later corrected with actions aimed mainly at the informal sector.

For this year, Víctor Mejía stated that the projection is to raise S/17,500 million more than in 2024. “The positive news from the previous year is that the measures we took in the last quarter of the year allowed us to overcome this gap to be covered. Now we have everything a year to continue promoting these measures and adopt new ones,” he highlighted.

Likewise, he highlighted the exchange of information they have with other countries, which has allowed access to information that allows determining which assets are located abroad that should be taxed in Peru.
