The controversial time change is approaching and, with the end of summer, it is time to adjust the clocks in Chilean territory. Daylight saving time in Continental Chile will end on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 00:00, at which time clocks must be turned back one hour (becoming 23:00). Only the Magallanes Region and the Chilean Antarctic Territory will maintain their current time zone.
In the territories of Western Insular Chile, such as Rapa Nui, summer time will remain active until Saturday, April 1, 2023, when it will return to the UTC-6 time zone (winter time), but clocks must be turned back, going to be 9:00 p.m.
The summer climatic season will come to an end in the entire southern hemisphere of the planet, including Chile, on March 20, 2023, beginning autumn on March 21. To take this into account, the calendar of climatic seasons is as follows:
Summer: From December 21, 2022 to March 20, 2023.
Autumn: From March 21, 2023 to June 20, 2023.
Winter: From June 21, 2023 to September 20, 2023.
Spring: From September 21, 2023 to December 20, 2023.
Don’t forget to set your watches on time to keep your activities in sync with the rest of the country.
